How to use multiple currencies
Manage default currency, decimal places, preferred currencies, and entry currencies in Wageso.
Last updated:
Currency settings
Open Settings, then Currency to manage how Wageso displays money values. This screen includes default currency, decimal places, preferred currencies, and Add currency...
The default currency is used for the main view of totals. Preferred currencies are the currencies you want available quickly when creating income or expenses.
Add or manage currencies
You can add currencies from Currency settings. Tap Add currency... to open a list with currencies such as US Dollar, Euro, British Pound, Japanese Yen, and more. Use the search field to find the currency faster.
Choose the default currency
Use the currency you want to see in primary totals and Cashflow views.
Set decimal places
Choose whether amounts should appear with 0, 1, 2, or another number of decimal places.
Add preferred currencies
Add currencies you use for income, expenses, subscriptions, travel, or regular spending in another currency.
What are preferred currencies for?
Preferred currencies keep frequently used currencies easy to access when creating entries. The default currency appears in the list with a Default label. If you disable a currency, that choice only affects new entries; it does not automatically change entries you already saved.
You cannot disable the default currency. If you want to change the default, choose the new default first, then simplify your preferred currency list.
Entry currencies
For income and expense entries, use the currency where the money movement happened. On the entry form, the currency field appears next to the amount; you can choose TRY, USD, EUR, or another currency you enabled.
Choosing the right currency keeps Cashflow, Insights, and filters easier to understand.
Common examples:
- Salary and daily spending in the default currency.
- USD or EUR subscriptions.
- Travel spending in another currency.
- Income or recurring expenses in a foreign currency.
What does the decimal setting affect?
Decimal places control how many digits appear after the decimal point. For example, choosing 2 decimals shows amounts with cents or kurus-like precision. This is a display setting; it does not replace choosing the correct currency when saving an entry.
What to watch for
The most common mistake is saving an entry with the wrong currency. Check amount and currency together, especially for foreign-currency subscriptions, travel expenses, or payments received in another currency.
Next step
After setting currencies, review Cashflow and Insights. If a value looks wrong, check the entry currency, default currency, decimal setting, and active filters.
